The 16th mission of Axion Hellas has officially begun!

From April 12 to 21, 2024, our dedicated volunteers will provide essential services across the islands of Sifnos, Schinoussa, Astypalea, Amorgos, and Kimolos. Residents will benefit from free medical examinations conducted by doctors in 18 different specialties using state-of-the-art portable equipment.

With great success and with the participation of dozens of educators and students from all over Greece, the 12th Seminar of the Educational Program “Speaking Truth to Power” by the Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation took place on Monday, April 8, 2024, at the NJV Athens Plaza Hotel.

Members of our team recently visited Amorgos to prepare for the 16th mission of Axion Hellas, scheduled for April 12-21, 2024. During the visit, we met with Mayor Mr. Lefteris Karaiskos, Deputy Mayor Ms. Popi Despotidou, local teachers, doctors from the health center, and residents.

We were honored to participate in the 9th Panhellenic Forum: Women in Oncology. This conference focuses on cancer in women, the gender differences in the disease, and the support for female professionals in oncology.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to ERT and the show “Σαββατοκύριακο από τις 6”, MEGA and “Mega Σαββατοκύριακο”, ANT1 and “Στούντιο με Θέα”, as well as OPEN’s “Τώρα Μαζί” for their coverage of our 15th mission to the remote villages of Northern Tzoumerka.

Our volunteers are already in Northern Tzoumerka and will be there until December 2nd, providing medical examinations as well as educational and cultural activities for people of all ages.

The 15th mission of Axion Hellas is starting soon! From November 29 to December 3, our volunteers, driven by a spirit of selfless service, will be close to the residents of Northern Tzoumerka.

At the Benaki Museum, Deloitte presented the Strategic Plan for the revival of the ancient village of Halki ‘’Horio’’, which includes a study on the socio-economic impacts that may arise from its implementation.

Witnessing with sorrow the biblical-scale catastrophe that struck Thessaly, Axion Hellas promptly responded to an urgent appeal from the Ministry of Health, along with other volunteer organizations, to provide aid (food, medication, first aid supplies) and participate in the rescue efforts for our fellow citizens trapped in the flooded areas.

We are planning our next steps, and we are celebrating all the achievements of our team with gratitude. 

13th Mission of Axion Hellas

With absolute success, the first action of the volunteers of Axion Hellas for 2023 was completed in Halki, Symi, Pserimos, Heraklia, and Kimolos. The team of Axion Hellas covered 600 nautical miles with 13 speedboats under challenging weather conditions to provide valuable, high-quality services to the residents of the remote islands in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese.

Axion Hellas is pleased to inform you that the great composer and pianist Stefanos Korkolis, on January 25th, celebrates 35 years of a successful artistic career with a unique concert at the Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall. He has chosen to donate the proceeds from this special event to support the goals of Axion Hellas.

With their luggage filled with smiles, gratitude, and satisfaction from the residents of the mountainous region of Almopia, the 80 volunteers of Axion Hellas departed after the completion of the 12th action in the region of Pella.

The 12th mission of Axion Hellas is going to take place in the border region of Almopia.  In the border villages of the Pella region, specifically in Orma, Monastiraki, Polykarpi, Sarakinou, Megaplatano, and Koryfi, volunteers from Axion Hellas will provide their valuable services from October 19th to 23rd.

On Saturday, July 9th, 1,500 residents and visitors of Nafplio enjoyed the excellent theatrical performance of "The Trial of Theodoros Kolokotronis," dramatized by the Reppas-Pathanasiou team with music by Dimitris Papadimitriou.

Deloitte Greece supports the Municipality of Halki in the ambitious project to revive the historic settlement of "Chorio" with the goal of increasing its population.

On Friday, January 28, the inauguration ceremony of the new Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology took place. One of the first initiatives of the new administration was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with AXION HELLAS.

Axion Hellas carried out its first integrated action after the period of restrictive measures due to covid. In the previous period, it did not remain inactive, but offered services in the educational sector as well as donations from a distance.
