With great pleasure, representatives of Axion Hellas visited St. Catherine's School on November 7th to present the organization’s work.
We are pleased to respond to the request from the Municipality of Kimolos to assist in the management of the stray cat population on the island. In collaboration with the veterinary team from the animal welfare organization SPAZ and the Municipality of Kimolos, Axion Hellas has organized a critical emergency initiative aimed at neutering and vaccinating 70 stray cats on Kimolos. This initiative commenced on October 18th and will conclude on Sunday, October 20th.
In the context of planning Axion Hellas' 17th action, which will take place in Konitsa from November 20 to 24, 2024, a small delegation from our team visited the area. During the visit, we met with local residents and authorities, who provided us with information regarding their needs.
This summer we delivered with great pleasure a new lifeguard platform and equipment to the beach ''Livadi'' in beautiful Astypalaia! This donation was made possible through Axion Hellas with the kind support of KIKPE. Our goal is to ensure the safety and protection of all bathers. Together, we create a safer environment for all!
The student community of Psychiko College collaborated with Axion Hellas on a commendable initiative aimed at fostering a love for knowledge and reading. As part of this project, outdoor libraries were constructed and books were collected to be donated to Amorgos and Schinoussa.
The beloved author Maro Theodoraki recently presented her 60th children's book titled "Stand by Me." The book explores concepts such as peace, freedom, and togetherness through the lens of volunteerism. In a generous initiative by author and publisher George D. Lempesis, a portion of the book's proceeds will be donated to support the work of Axion Hellas.
On the occasion of the educational program 'Child Entrepreneurship,' the 6th grade students of the Athens College chose, among other organizations, Axion Hellas to offer a monetary donation to support our work.
The 16th mission of Axion Hellas, conducted from April 12-21, 2024, successfully concluded its activities in Sifnos, Schinoussa, Astypalea, Amorgos, and Kimolos. The Axion Hellas volunteer team traveled 400 miles by sea to provide valuable, high-quality medical services, educational, and cultural programs to the residents of these remote Cycladic and Dodecanese islands.
The 16th mission of Axion Hellas has officially begun!
From April 12 to 21, 2024, our dedicated volunteers will provide essential services across the islands of Sifnos, Schinoussa, Astypalea, Amorgos, and Kimolos. Residents will benefit from free medical examinations conducted by doctors in 18 different specialties using state-of-the-art portable equipment.
With great success and with the participation of dozens of educators and students from all over Greece, the 12th Seminar of the Educational Program “Speaking Truth to Power” by the Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation took place on Monday, April 8, 2024, at the NJV Athens Plaza Hotel.
Members of our team recently visited Amorgos to prepare for the 16th mission of Axion Hellas, scheduled for April 12-21, 2024. During the visit, we met with Mayor Mr. Lefteris Karaiskos, Deputy Mayor Ms. Popi Despotidou, local teachers, doctors from the health center, and residents.
We were honored to participate in the 9th Panhellenic Forum: Women in Oncology. This conference focuses on cancer in women, the gender differences in the disease, and the support for female professionals in oncology.

Our volunteers are already in Northern Tzoumerka and will be there until December 2nd, providing medical examinations as well as educational and cultural activities for people of all ages.
At the Benaki Museum, Deloitte presented the Strategic Plan for the revival of the ancient village of Halki ‘’Horio’’, which includes a study on the socio-economic impacts that may arise from its implementation.
In this special collaboration titled "together again’’, the great composers and pianists George Hatzinasios and Stefanos Korkolis together with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Athens under the direction of Anastasios Symeonidis and renowned singers Sofia Manusaki, Thodoris Voutsikakis, and Ada Athanasopoulou offered everyone in attendance a wonderful evening full of emotions.
Witnessing with sorrow the biblical-scale catastrophe that struck Thessaly, Axion Hellas promptly responded to an urgent appeal from the Ministry of Health, along with other volunteer organizations, to provide aid (food, medication, first aid supplies) and participate in the rescue efforts for our fellow citizens trapped in the flooded areas.
