Axion Hellas’ 9th mission is postponed due to Covid-19

Being responsible for the citizens of our remote islands of Greece, our volunteers, but also with respect for the rules set by the government in order to deal with the COVID-19 crisis, we are obliged to postpone our 9th mission scheduled for the period 1-10 of May. Axion Hellas supports doctors and the nursing and paramedical staff who fight the pandemic every day.

Today is the World Hearing Day, designated by the World Health Organization and aiming to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world.

9th sailing of Axion Hellas

The new year finds us all ready and organized for our first action. The first big sailing for 2020 will take place from 1-10 May with destinations in Folegandros, Anafi, Karpathos, Halki, Pserimos, Arki and Agathonisi.

The Hellenic Initiative Australia supports Axion Hellas medical mission to remote Aegean islands

The Hellenic Initiative Australia will be funding a volunteer medical mission by Axion Hellas to four remote Aegean islands next month, providing preventive and specialised medical care for people living in these isolated communities.

On September 12th, Axion Hellas President Mr. V. Patras and HELMEPA President Dr. G. Gratsos signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

5th Mission: SCHOINOUSSA – ANAFI – KASOS – KARPATHOS 28.04 – 05.05.2018

Axion Hellas carried out its 5th mission to the islands of Schinoussa, Anafi, Kasos and Karpathos from April 28 to May 6, 2018. The 101 volunteers team carried out medical examinations and home medical visits, educational and cultural events for the inhabitants of the islands.

4th Mission: MEGANISI – KALAMOS – KASTOS 09.03 – 11.03.2018

Axion Hellas once again made the difference and carried out a mission of soul on 3 remote islands of the Ionian Sea, Meganisi, Kastos and Kalamos on March 8-11 2018. The team of 101 volunteers based in Meganisi carried out medical examinations and educational events for island residents. In particular, in Kastos there were also home medical visits.
