Axion Hellas inaugurated the new library of the Gymnasium-Lyceum of Anafi today, June 24th, with the aim of promoting creative engagement and development for the students. The virtual ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education, Mrs. Niki Kerameos, and the Mayor of the island, Mr. Iakovos Roussos, along with other local authorities.

The children had the opportunity to explore the new library, while speeches and blessings were part of the event. We were joined by Manos Gavras, an author of children's books, who kindly provided the children with books from Psichogios Publications.

With great joy, we inaugurated the new Rural Medical Clinic of the community of Syrrako, which will enhance primary healthcare services in the community and the wider area of the Municipality of North Tzoumerka.

We have completed the delivery of 15 tablets to Leipsoi, out of the total donation of 272 tablets provided by Axion Hellas to meet the immediate needs of students and workers on the islands of Agathonisi, Amorgos, Anafi, Arki, Astypalea, Gavdos, Heraklia, Thirassia, Kalamos, Karpathos, Kasos, Kastellorizo, Kimolos, Meganisi, Schinoussa, Tilos, Folegandros, Chalki, and Psara.

After a heavy downpour due to Cyclone Janos, houses, businesses and main roads in Agia Euphemia of Kefalonia were filled with mud and debris.

Axion Hellas' emergency action in cooperation with the National Public Health Organization (EODY), in order to provide diagnostic tests for Covid-19 to residents of 15 small islands of the Aegean, was successfully completed.

In the beautiful island of Kastellorizo, yesterday afternoon, in a humble and deeply moving ceremony, after the consecration service by Father Georgios, Ms. Mareva Grabofski-Mitsotakis pressed the "green button" and put into operation the electric generator, which was installed on the island through the generous donation of Ms. Elena Ambrosiadou and the efforts of AXION HELLAS.

Axion Hellas, in continuation of its actions to combat COVID-19 and in cooperation with the National Public Health Organization (EODY), will depart on an emergency operational action in 15 Aegean islands, from 5 to 12 June.

This year’s World Health Day is dedicated to recognizing and honoring nurses and midwives. Axion Hellas would like to honor the entire medical community who is actively contributing to the preservation of the most valuable asset, health and therefore stays home.

Axion Hellas continues to support society in every possible way, donating to the Intensive Care Unit of the First Pulmonary Clinic of the University of Athens, a Breas Vivo 50 Respirator with its oxygen bottles and other hospital consumables.

Being fully aware of the needs of our country in these extremely difficult times that the whole world is going through, Axion Hellas decided to offer the amount of 50,000 euros to address the urgent needs of the national health system.

A fully refurbished, inflatable RHIB (rigid-hulled inflatable) military speedboat was delivered to the Hellenic Navy yesterday. It is a high-capacity auxiliary boat of the TPK “DANIOLOS”, one of the most cutting edge missile launchers of the Hellenic Navy.

Being responsible for the citizens of our remote islands of Greece, our volunteers, but also with respect for the rules set by the government in order to deal with the COVID-19 crisis, we are obliged to postpone our 9th mission scheduled for the period 1-10 of May. Axion Hellas supports doctors and the nursing and paramedical staff who fight the pandemic every day.

We were delighted to organize the charity event Auction for Axion, a live auction of contemporary artworks by Greek and international artists.

Today is the World Hearing Day, designated by the World Health Organization and aiming to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world.

The new year finds us all ready and organized for our first action. The first big sailing for 2020 will take place from 1-10 May with destinations in Folegandros, Anafi, Karpathos, Halki, Pserimos, Arki and Agathonisi.

Our 8th sailing trip to the three small islands of the Ionian Sea, Meganissi, Kalamos and Kastos, was completed with absolute success. We would like to thank all the partners and institutions that contributed to the realization of our last action.

In addition to the clinics we will set up in Meganissi, our 8th action includes partnerships that will contribute significantly to our work.

Our upcoming action will take place in Meganisi, Kalamos and Kastos. We are leaving on December 4 with the first destination being Meganisi!

We offered to the Strongyli outpost, a container that will serve as a complete and modern sanitary facility to serve the military personnel of the outpost.

The special event entitled "Costumes with Faces" at the Benaki Museum of Hellenic Culture was organized with great success on November 26, 2019.
