Axion Hellas: 16th Mission - Sifnos, Schinoussa, Astypalea, Amorgos, Kimolos
The 16th mission of Axion Hellas has officially begun!
From April 12 to 21, 2024, our dedicated volunteers will provide essential services across the islands of Sifnos, Schinoussa, Astypalea, Amorgos, and Kimolos. Residents will benefit from free medical examinations conducted by doctors in 18 different specialties using state-of-the-art portable equipment.

- Ultrasound of Solid Organs and Vessels

- Plastic Surgery
- Dermatology
- Orthopedics
- Urology
- ENT
- Audiology (Hearing tests)
- Dentistry
In collaboration with Professor Pallikaridis and the University of the Mountains, we will introduce a cutting-edge mobile ophthalmology unit to Astypalea and Amorgos, staffed by experienced doctors and optometrists for optimal patient care.
The 16th mission will also feature numerous cultural and educational activities designed for both young and adult residents. These include:
- Educational talks on internet safety by the Greek Police’s Cybercrime Unit.
- First aid training program titled "Become a Hero".
- Human rights program "Speak Truth to Power" in collaboration with the Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation and Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Human Rights.
- "Ocean Lab" by Safe Water Sports.
- Environmental talk by National Geographic explorer Thodoris Anagnostopoulos and exploration of the local seabed with the Xplore Blue oceanographic vessel in Sifnos.
- Classical music concert featuring young musicians from the Athens Conservatory.
- The 2nd Mini Run in Amorgos with ultramarathon runners Dean Karnazes and Jo Manta.
- Traditional cooking sessions with chef Argiro Barbarigou in Sifnos and Schinoussa.
- Stand-up comedy by Lampros Fisfis in Astypalea.
- Children's theater performance "The Queen of Everything" presented at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall.
Additionally, activities promoting sports will be organized across the islands under the theme "Respect Diversity, Love Sports" by the National Olympic Academy. In Astypalea and Amorgos, HOPEgenesis will give a talk on "Combating Subfertility".
Since 2017, Axion Hellas has carried out 15 missions across remote areas of Greece, providing free medical examinations and cultural activities to residents of isolated and hard-to-reach areas.
