The 18th mission of Axion Hellas was successfully completed, with stops in Fournoi Korseon, Thymaina, Patmos, Nisyros, Chalki, and Folegandros, from May 8th to 18th.
Within just ten days, 174 volunteers and 14 vessels visited six islands, offering medical care, educational and cultural programs, as well as vital infrastructure projects that significantly enhance the daily lives of local communities.
A total of 1,308 residents received medical attention, and 4,749 medical examinations were carried out by a team of professionals covering 19 different specialties. In collaboration with SPAZ, 100 stray animals were neutered, vaccinated, and equipped with microchips.
Three key infrastructure projects were delivered:
-
Construction of a playground at the Kindergarten and Primary School of Fournoi
-
Renovation of the basketball, football, and volleyball courts at the Primary School of Patmos
-
Installation of an open-air gym at the High School of Astypalaia
Additionally, 15 educational programs and 4 cultural events were implemented, engaging a total of 1,628 participants (733 adults and 472 children).
The conclusion of this mission does not signify an end but serves as a powerful reminder that our shared journey continues. With dedication and unity, we remain committed to being present wherever we are needed.
