Inauguration of the new library at the Gymnasium-Lyceum of Anafi

Axion Hellas inaugurated the new library of the Gymnasium-Lyceum of Anafi today, June 24th, with the aim of promoting creative engagement and development for the students. The virtual ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education, Mrs. Niki Kerameos, and the Mayor of the island, Mr. Iakovos Roussos, along with other local authorities.

The children had the opportunity to explore the new library, while speeches and blessings were part of the event. We were joined by Manos Gavras, an author of children's books, who kindly provided the children with books from Psichogios Publications.

A big thank you to Mrs. Theodorou, who is an Axion Hellas volunteer, for her valuable donation of a computer for the library. We would also like to thank Sigma Wood for constructing the library, the author Mania Armelinou, who offered her book "Flying Chickpeas" to the children,  all the institutions of Anafi as well as the Principal of the Gymnasium L.T. Anafi, Mr. Athanasios Varsos, for their significant efforts and contributions to the island's education.

The infrastructure initiatives of Axion Hellas continue unabated, and we remain committed to always stand by the local communities of remote Greek islands.
